Sony releases PS Vita in Japan

The PS Vita is a handheld game console developed by Sony. The PS Vita was the successor to the successful PSP handheld.

The PS Vita was released in Japan on 17th December 2011, the US on 15th February 2012, and Europe on 22nd February 2012.

The PS Vita initially came in two models: a WiFi only model, and a 3G model for receiving mobile data. The latter was discontinued within a year. The PS Vita had many more features than the PSP, including including Bluetooth, an OLED touch screen, and two analogue sticks.
